Anointment Natural Skin Care Inc., a natural skin care company based in Sackville, NB has received cruelty free certification from US-based Leaping Bunny. This certification verifies that we will not and does not conduct, Commission, or be a party to animal testing of any cosmetic product including the formulations and ingredients of the products we produce.
As of May 2017, our fixed cut-off date, we agree that all of our ingredients, formulations and product does not comply with the Standard, we will replace it with an alternative that complies with the Standard’s criteria or remove it from the product range.
To obtain certification Anointment was required to obtain a signed statement from each ingredient supplier verifying the product has never been tested on animals. Through this process, it was confirmed that the suppliers Anointment has partnered with also take seriously transparency of their raw materials and supply chain. We maintain these files as part of our Supplier Monitoring Program. We are proud of this program implementation and certification as a tangible reflection to our customers of our internal company values of ingredient transparency and environmental responsibility.
As we grow we rely more and more on our product packaging to tell our story, cruelty free certification reflects our company and personal values and stewards of the environment. The Leaping Bunny certification helps us to communicate these values effectively to our customers through our product labels. By adding the logo to our product packaging customers will immediately know that we are committed to preventing animal cruelty.
Anointment Natural Skin Care is an award-winning company that produces products for several lines including Pregnancy & Postpartum, Grooming, Skin Care, Lip Balm, and Handcrafted Bar Soap. With a focus on certified organic ingredients and inspired by life on the historic Tantramar Marshes, Anointment also works with local farmers to purchase certified organic herbs. Owner April MacKinnon also keeps a large herb garden and spends time wildcrafting botanicals for Anointment bar soap. Anointment products are all produced in a small workshop in Sackville, New Brunswick and distributed throughout Canada in independent baby boutiques, health food stores, lifestyle shops and large chains including Whole Foods. Anointment also provides manufacturing services for other Canadian skin care brands and currently employs four people.
